I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Saint Louis University, where I lead a research group on natural language processing for event-centric narrative understanding — building systems that help people compare how different sources tell different stories about the same events.

I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Brandeis University (2026), advised by Nianwen Xue and co-advised by James Pustejovsky. My dissertation developed computational methods for framing analysis grounded in events and the relations between them — cross-document event coreference, causal relations, and framing-divergent coreference.

My work sits at the intersection of natural language processing, computational linguistics, computational social science. A running theme is that the same events can be described in very different ways — not because the facts change, but because the framing does: which events are selected, how they are ordered, what is treated as cause or consequence, who is held responsible, and how language and images shape interpretation. I build models and tools that make these narrative choices visible and comparable, without asking AI to decide which perspective is correct.

Alongside research, I have contributed to shared community infrastructure, including Uniform Meaning Representation and UMR Writer, and I care about mentoring: helping students grow into independent researchers who do careful, reproducible, and socially thoughtful work.
